This simple, frugal craft idea takes only minutes to make but keeps kids busy and happy on rainy days and other times they can't play outside.
You'll Need:
Mix ingredients above in a bowl. Spread rice out on wax paper or aluminum foil to dry (this usually takes about an hour).Β Use in activity tables, cake pans, or other containers for indoor fun.
Add fun objects like spoons, funnels, matchbox cars, and let your child's imagination take over.Β Seasonal food coloring, like red and green for christmas adds a fun touch.Β Try red and pink for Valentine's Day, orange for halloween, green for St. Patrick's Day, etc.

You can also use this method to dye rice for crafts!

I do this and use the rice as “glitter” for glue and glitter pictures. Just draw the shapes with glue and sprinkle on the colored rice “glitter”.
