This is sausage breakfast egg bake is super-easy, mainly because you're using a pre-made crescent roll crust. And, who doesn't love that buttery, flaky goodness? There's nothing complicated or hard about it, and the ingredients are things you may already have in your fridge or freezer. It isn't just for breakfast, either. My son just asked for it for dinner tonight. It takes about 10 minutes to put it together, and only about 35-40 minutes in the oven. So, if you ask me – it's nice to throw in the oven on busy nights.
Ingredients:
- 1 can crescent roll dough
- 1 lb. pork sausage (mild to medium)
- 1 C. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 C. Monterrey Jack cheese
- 6 eggs
- 1 C. milk
- Tabasco, to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large skillet, brown the pork sausage. Drain.
In a 9×13 Pyrex or glass baking dish, press the crescent roll dough onto the bottom
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs and milk together. Add Tabasco to taste (I added 4-5 splashes of it).
Layer the drained sausage over the crescent roll dough. Pour the egg and milk mixture on top, then sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minute, or until cheese is golden brown. Let stand for 2-3 minutes before cutting, then serve.
