Still searching for ways to step outside the box?  As a mom, improving your perspective on life can be easier than you think.  Here are some more simple suggestions to help you experience new things in life:

  1. Get together with a friend you have been meaning to get to know better
  2. Check out a store you haven’t been to before
  3. Learn a new craft: knitting, sewing, scrapbooking, etc.
  4. Organize a playdate with friends who don’t know each other
  5. Try cooking a new ethnic cuisine
  6. Check out some travel DVDs at your library and learn about a new place
  7. Write a letter to someone telling them how much they mean to you
  8. Get a manicure or a pedicure (check out beauty schools for bargain prices)
  9. Move your bed so that you wake up with a new view
  10. Switch tasks with your husband for a night (i.e. he cooks while you mow the lawn)
  11. Put your child’s ‘regular’ toys away; get out ones he hasn’t played with for long time
  12. Resolve to quit complaining for an entire week
  13. Invite a friend out to lunch at a place you don’t normally go
  14. Skip your “regular” TV shows in favor of new ones for a day
  15. Buy new shades of makeup
  16. Take the bus or a taxi somewhere
  17. Hire a babysitter and do something for yourself for a couple of hours
  18. Plan a date with your husband
  19. Invite a neighbor over for dinner or coffee
  20. In the car, listen to a different radio station
  21. Buy a new trendy piece of clothing or accessory
  22. Complete a home improvement project
  23. Make the step to do something new professionally
  24. Sign up for a fitness class like Yoga or Pilates
  25. Go for a walk in a new neighborhood
