crock pot teriyaki Pork Riblets
I recently found pork riblets at the grocery store for just $1.59/lb. Using a dry rub, I cooked them in the crock pot then glazed and broiled them for a delicious and frugal teriyaki rib dinner. YUM! Prep time was less than 20 minutes for an incredibly yummy meal.
What you'll need:
- 2lbs of pork riblets (these are smaller than traditional ribs and much cheaper per pound)
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger (if desired)
- 1/4 teaspoon of cheyenne pepper (if desired)
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Teriyaki sauce for glaze
Crock Pot Instructions:
- Mix the dry ingredients together for the rub
- Rub into pork riblets
- Lay riblets in a single layer (if possible) in tin foil lined crockpot. Cook on high for 4-5 hours
- Glaze with teriyaki sauce and broil on high for 4-7 minutes
- Enjoy!
Teriyaki Sauce for Riblets:
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 5 tablespoons of packed brown sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 1/4 cup of cold water
Crock Pot Teriyaki Riblets:
- Mix all the ingredients except the cornstarch and 1/4 cup of water in a sauce pan. Bring to a low boil
- Add cornstarch to 1/4 cup of cold water. Pour into boiling mixture slowly
- Bring back to a boil and stir until thickens (you want the constancy of thick orange juice, but not thick like ketchup or bbq sauce)
- Store unused in the fridge for up to a week. Goes great on fish, chicken, beef, pork, and vegetables!
