Frugal Bathtime Fun for Baby

September 12, 2010 by Kimberly Danger 16 Comments

Tip #366 from The Complete Book of Baby Bargains:  Fill your ice cube trays with water, adding a drop of food coloring to each section.  When frozen, these can be popped out and put in baby’s bath water.  He’ll have fund “chasing” them around in the tub and trying to grab them before they melt.

Will the color not get on the kiddos once they melt?

No, it doesn’t get on them. You’re using such a small amount of food coloring in comparison to the amount of water in the entire tub.

Bathing time for my baby is a fun and happy period. She just loves being bathed and soaking in the water for long periods.

Hi Susie, I love this post! My daughter would totally enjoy walking a spaghetti worm around our kitchen. What a great idea. And the spaghetti with beads! Who knew spaghetti was that strong? Thanks for sharing this over on TinkerLab.

Forget babies! I’m using this on my 4 & 6 year olds. They love those fizzing bath color pellets… and I can make these for pennies!
