Our apartment in bangalore isn't much different from one many of you may live in. Still, I thought it might be fun to give you a glimpse of where we live. So, this is my first video blog, a tour of our apartment.
We live on the fourth floor of a 10 story apartment building in a secured complex. Of course, everything in india has security, and it's mostly for show. The rent is about 3 times the monthly salary of one of my husband's underlings. It's more than you would pay for a similar place in Utah, but half of a similar place in Manhattan.
We have an open living/eating area with a large balcony; a hallway kitchen with a washroom outside; a master bedroom with another balcony; a bedroom for the kids; and another bathroom. The floors are tile, and get so dusty that they need to be cleaned daily (they were filthy when we moved in). We bought new linens, towels, and rugs and cleaned for two days straight to make it livable.
There are a few bugs here and there (I bought storage containers for all our food, citronella floor cleaner, and plug-in repellants). laundry is line-dried and dishes are hand-washed. Now that it's clean, and we're all unpacked, this is home, and I love it. So, excuse my amateur video skills and come on in!
Here's what the bathroom floor looked like when we moved in. I swear the floor changed colors when I washed it. And yes, I picked up the dead spider after taking this picture.

Thanks for sharing Susie. You made a person feel as if they were right there with you touring your home, you did a great job of the video!

Can your family from the US send care packages with items? I could not even imagine. My kids are too picky. But what an adventure. Glad you love it.

Thank for the tour, it’s amazing to see another culture through a Mommysavers.

Monica, believe it or not, it’d probably cost more to buy Poptarts in the US and mail them over. Overseas shipping is really expensive.
