I love Spicy Garlic Chicken. It is one the dishes I always get when ordering Chinese take-out. I love Spicy Garlic Chicken so much I scoured the internet to find a recipe for it. This recipe is easy and quick, though does call for some unusual ingredients if you aren’t familiar with Asian Cuisine.
Ingredients:
* 1-2 chicken breasts (1 breast for every 2 adults)
* Low Sodium Kikkoman Soy Sauce (Use this B1G1 free coupon)
* cooking sherry
* 5 garlic cloves
* chili paste (see picture above, there are many brands but always has a picture of a rooster on it)
* sesame seed oil
* oil for cooking
Directions:
Mix 1 Tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 Tablespoon of sherry into bowl for marinade. Cut raw chicken into 1 inch by 1 inch pieces and place in marinade for 30 minutes.
Mix 2 Tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 Tablespoon of sherry, 4 gloves of garlic finely chopped (I use a garlic press), 1 teaspoon of chili paste (more or less depending how spicy you want the chicken to be), and a few drops of sesame oil in a separate bowl and set aside.
Pour enough oil to cover the bottom of your wok or skillet. Crush one glove of garlic in the oil.
Once meat is finished marinating heat oil on high. Once oil is pipping hot put chicken in and cook for 60 seconds. Pour sauce mixture over chicken and cook for 2 minutes. Pull largest piece of chicken out to check if done thoroughly. You do not want to over cook the chicken or it will be tough and dry.
I threw some thinly sliced carrots in with my sauce, but you don’t have to.
Serve over rice and enjoy!
