Here are some simple After-School Snacks that kids can make with minimal or no supervision. Plus, these ideas are easy on the budget!

After-School Snacks Younger Kids Can Make

  • Microwave Popcorn
  • Veggies with Dip
  • Ants on a Log (Celery with peanut butter, Nutella or cheese spread topped with raisins)
  • Fruit and Cheese Kabobs
  • Nachos
  • Tortilla Rollups (Recipe: Strawberry Roll-Ups)
  • Yogurt Parfaits
  • Toast with butter, peanut butter, jam, jelly or another favorite spread
  • Smoothies
  • English Muffin Pizza in the microwave
  • Tuna or Chicken Salad Sandwich
  • Crackers with different cheeses

*Some of these after-school snacks do require the use of a microwave or toaster.

After-School Snacks Older Kids Can Make

  • Cookies – (Buy the mixes that require only eggs, water and oil for ingredients)
  • Muffins – (You can buy mixes for less that $0.50 when on sale and they sometimes only require eggs and water or milk for the ingredients)
  • Bars – (There are many box varieties to pick from down the baking aisle, some have to be baked and some only need to be refrigerated)
  • Oyster Cracker Snacks (Recipe: Ranch Oyster Crackers)
  • Frozen Pizza
  • Homemade Tortilla Chips (Recipe: DIY: Yummy Homemade Tortilla Chips)
  • Quesadillas
  • Oven Fries
