Summer grilling season is here… FINALLY!! Fish is one of my favorite things to have on the grill. This recipe is one that my husband does regularly. It’s so easy, but tastes delicious. You can use frozen salmon filets to save money, but I recommend buying the GOOD stuff. It just tastes better, and for me is worth the money. Save money on something else. I got my cedar planks at TJ Maxx, but they don’t always carry them. They’re available on Amazon.com. Before you use them, you will need to soak them. The moisture in the wood helps flavor and steam your salmon in the cooking process. They will float, so put something heavy on top of them in the sink to weight them down and keep them under water.
Cedar Plank Salmon Marinade
- 1/3 C. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/3 C. low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
Combine ingredients in a freezer bag with your salmon. Marinate for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator while your planks are soaking. Grill.
