I had the pleasure of meeting up with two Mommysavers members in Chicago last month (that's me in the middle). We treated ourselves to these indulgent chocolate martinis at The Signature Room Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building. It was an amazingly fun time and lots of memories were made, but for one night we completely abandoned our very frugal ways.
However, when three Mommysavers members come together you can count on them to find a way to do the same thing at home for a fraction of the price. When we tasted the Chocolate Martini, we knew we were up to the challenge!
Susie (that's her holding the glass) came up with a deliciously frugal copycat recipe for the Signature Room Godiva Chocolate Martini itself, and Maggie shows us how to get the swirl on the glass just right for an elegant touch (that's her photo below). With their help, you can treat yourself to one too – without the spending hangover! By the way, this would also be a decadent treat for a New Year's Eve party.
Copycat Godiva Chocolate Martini
You'll Need:
2 oz Baileys Irish Cream
2 oz Vodka (Grey Goose)
1 oz Godiva
Susie says, “If you like it creamy, add a little cream or half & half. I tried it both ways and liked them both! Garnish your glass with chocolate syrup, add some chocolate shavings or chopped Andes mint, or a cherry.” For more of her tips and photos, visit her post on our discussion forums.
Variations:
Chocolate Covered Cherry: Use Black Cherry Effen Vodka
Mint Chocolate: Use Mint Bailey's Irish Cream
Cheers!

The trick is to twirl the glass, not the syrup.
