Copycat Recipe: Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits

September 20, 2011 by Kimberly Danger 1 Comment

red lobster cheddar bay biscuits

Who doesn’t just LOVE the garlic cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster?  They’re so tasty it can be hard not to fill up on them before your meal arrives.  These were so easy, my 11-year-old made the biscuits pictured above. If she can do it, so can YOU!  Plus, we all thought they tasted a lot like the originals.

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits Recipe:

Biscuits:

  • 2 C. baking mix (like Bisquick)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • 3/4 C. grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2/3 C. milk

Brush with:

  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano or parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  In a large bowl, combine Bisquick and butter with a fork or pastry blender.  Next, add the Cheddar cheese and garlic powder.  Add milk and stir until well combined.

Drop dough onto a greased baking sheet and loosely form into biscuit-shaped rounds.  Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until biscuits begin to brown slightly around the edges.

While the biscuits are baking, combine the butter, oregano and garlic salt mixture.  When biscuits are removed from the oven, brush it on liberally.  Serve warm and enjoy!

I made these tonight. I don’t use Bisquick, so I substituted:

    2 c. flour
    2 t. sugar
    3 T. vegetable oil
    1 t. salt

Worked great! My kids LOVED these biscuits.
