Halloween Snack Ideas for After-School

Halloween Snack Ideas for After-School

Halloween is all about treats, but sometimes you don’t want your kids to dive into the candy right away after school.  Instead, here are some snack ideas for kids that don’t have quite as much sugar – but still are just as much fun!

Halloween After-School Snack Idea #1:  Spooky Halloween Teeth
Try serving these Spooky Halloween Teeth (pictured above) with apples, peanut butter and marshmallows. You can also do slivered almonds instead of marshmallows, for even grosser looking monster teeth.

Halloween After-School Snack Idea #2:  Apple Jack-o-Lantern
Another idea is to carve an Apple Jack-o-Lantern.  Kids are getting a serving of fruit and having some Halloween fun all at the same time!

Halloween After-School Snack Idea #3:  Spider Cracker Snack
With a little cheese, some olives and crackers kids can assemble these Halloween Spider Cracker Snack treats themselves.  Creepy, crawly fun!

Halloween After-School Snack Idea #4:  Pumpkin Devilved Eggs
Pumpkin Deviled Eggs are a savory, yet fairly healthy alternative to sugary snacks. The orange food coloring makes them look like cute little Halloween pumpkins.  Add a little green stem at the top of the pumpkin.

Halloween After-School Snack Idea #5:  Halloween Banana Ghost
This Halloween Banana Ghost combines bananas and chocolate – two things most kids love!  This is another Halloween snack that kids can assemble by themselves.

Some of these ideas were originally posted in the Mommysavers Frugal Living forums.
