If you’ve ever wondered how to make coffee creamer at home, you’d be surprised to learn how simple it is. Plus, it is a great hostess gift during the holidays! Here is a great basic recipe for homemade French vanilla creamer. However, you can experiment with your own flavors by adding different flavored extracts and flavorings.
Homemade French Vanilla Creamer
- 1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
- 14-oz. milk (whole, lowfat, or skim – it doesn’t matter)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Pour all of the ingredients into a jar. Screw the lid on tightly, and shake vigorously for a few minutes until well-combined.

I made this and it tasted terrible! So I ended up wasting these ingredients. I hate wasting! I don’t have the money to be wasting , so what went wrong?

Did you used CONDENSED milk? I made the mistake of using just canned milk in a recipe once and discovered later I accidentally used reg canned milk instead of condensed milk. The cans look incredibly similar, but they ARE different. Condensed milk is so thick, the consistency is a lot like honey. I made this coffee creamer recipe for my husband and he loved it. We even used plain almond milk instead of cows milk, because he can’t do dairy. Hopefully this helps! It is frustrating when a recipe doesn’t turn out and it’s all a waste :/
