Kids Valentine’s Day Crafts: Deck of Cards, Playing Card Banner and Hug Me Valentines

February 3, 2011 by Susie Chadwick 2 Comments

Here’s a fun and easy Valentine’s Day craft to do with your kids. Pick up a deck of playing cards from the dollar store and make Valentine pals. I showed my preschooler how to fold accordion-style and she made the arms and legs herself.

We cut out a heart for a face, and feet and hands from construction paper, and put the whole craft together with a glue stick.  We reused an old deck of playing cards to make this Valentine’s Day craft.

Wondering how to reuse the rest of your deck of playing cards? No Time For Flash Cards has another fun kids craft idea using old playing cards – a Valentine’s Day banner.

We used a plastic yarn needle and embroidery thread to put this homemade Valentine’s Day banner together.

While we were working with accordion folding, we also made these Hug Me Valentines.  My preschooler folded the accordion arms, and added a face and hands.

Here’s the back of the Hug Me Valentine!
