Rice Krispies Halloween Pumpkins

October 14, 2013 by Kimberly Danger 1 Comment

Rice Krispies Halloween Pumpkins

These Rice Krispies Halloween Pumpkins are a fun treat that kids will LOVE.  The best part?  They’re easy to make!  Bring them to any Halloween Party or just make them for fun with the kiddos at home.

Rice Krispies Halloween Pumpkins

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 10-oz. bag marshmallows
  • 6 C. Rice Krispies cereal
  • Red and yellow food coloring to make orange
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Tootsie rolls
  • Green icing

Instructions for Your Pumpkins:

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.  Add marshmallows and stir until melted.   Add food coloring until you reach the desired orange color for your pumpkins.  Add vanilla.  Next, add Rice Krispies and coat well with orange marshmallow mixture.  Allow to cool slightly.

Wash your hands, then butter them; as you’ll be using them to mold round pumpkins out of the Rice Krispies.  Lay round orange ball on wax paper.  Stick a Tootsie Roll treat in the top to resemble the pumpkin’s stem.  You may need to re-shape the pumpkins a little bit before the cool, otherwise your pumpkins may get too flat on the bottom.

Once cool, use green icing to create the leaves on the pumpkin with a leaf decorating tip.
