Hi, I’m Shell! I stumbled into Mommysavers in 2003 looking for money saving tips and I never left. I’m a happily married stay at home mom of 2 munchkins. My daughter is 11 (going on 19) and my son is 9. I also have a 17-year -old bonus son who lives 600 miles away. We don’t get to see him nearly as often as we’d like, but he’s never far from my heart.
It’s funny thinking back now because I never thought I’d even be a mom. I was the girl who played with Barbies, not baby dolls, and my Barbies were career girls, they were on the fast track to something big! I started working during high school and took some business classes at a local college, but as is the life of a retail manager, it became consuming and one day I realized life was passing me by and I didn’t like it. I met my husband in 1998 and he changed my mind about a family. Yup, it’s one of those sappy ‘the second I knew I was pregnant I fell in love with my baby’, so I won’t bore you, but I will say~ becoming a mom has definitely been a huge highlight of my life.
I’ve been moderating the Entertainment (can you say reality show junkie!) and Money Matters forums at Mommysavers off and on for as long as I can remember, but I am all over the board. When I’m not on the boards or busy being Mom, I like to just relax with a good book (I’ve never met a James Patterson story I didn’t like!), or scrapbook. I also love organizing things but really, if I listed that as a hobby, you’d all think I was nuts!
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about the Mommysavers Forum or your account, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help!
