45+ Pre-Packaged Grocery Store Foods You Can Make at Home

July 13, 2015 by Bekah 1 Comment

Homemade Grocery Store Items

Seems like you can pretty much purchase anything that grocery stores these days.  However many pre-packaged foods contain preservatives to make them last longer on the shelf, in the refrigerator, or in the freezer.  A little time and effort can help you save a little money and cut out many of the preservatives.  Plus homemade food usually tastes way better anyways. Here are some great recipes for pre-packeged grocery store items that you can make in your own kitchen.

Dry Goods/Canned Goods/Condiments

These are simple ways to make pre-canned, bottled, or packaged items made for cooking.  I can’t tell you how many times I have been in the middle of cooking and realized I ran out of pancake syrup.  Once I was cooking the taco meat and I realized the seasoning packets were gone.  Well, problem solved!

Meals (Freezer Meals)

The frozen food aisle is a great convenience when you need a meal in a pinch.  However if you plan ahead, you can make some of these recipes in bulk and freezer them.  Again, they taste much better than their pre-packaged counterparts.  *Bread items are freezer-friendly too.
