Halloween Recipe: Jack-O-Lantern Cheese Ball

October 12, 2013 by Susie Chadwick Leave a Comment

Halloween Recipes: jack-o-lantern cheese ball

This Halloween recipe was easy to make and so fun! My 4 year old helped me decorate the jack-0-lantern cheese ball for a Halloween party.

I used my standard cheese ball recipe, adding in green onions and a dash Worcestershire sauce.  After the cheese ball is formed into a pumpkin shape and refrigerated for a bit, roll the whole thing in crushed cheese-flavored tortilla chips and decorate with olive pieces and a small pickle (my son’s favorite part).  Then, serve with crackers!

Jack-O-Lantern Cheese Ball Recipe

  • 2 packages cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 green onions
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 cheese-flavored tortilla chips, crushed
  • 4 whole olives
  • small pickle

Mix first 4 ingredients thoroughly. Form into a pumpkin shape (remember a spot for the stem), wrap in plastic and refrigerate for half an hour.  Roll in the crushed tortilla chips, pressing the crumbs into the cheese ball.  Make a jack-o-lantern face by cutting shapes from the olives, and add the pickle for a stem.
