Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot

November 26, 2013 by Maggie Leung Leave a Comment

Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock PotSpaghetti just got easier and more delicious.  Yes, that’s possible! Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot is now a regular on our menu.

Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot

What you’ll need:

  • 2-qt. crock pot (my crock pot has interchangeable bowls 2-qt., 4-qt., and 6-qt.)
  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. garlic (more or less to your taste)
  • Jar of spaghetti sauce of your choosing

Step One:

Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot - Step One

I use Jimmy Dean all natural pork sausage. It can be found near the bacon in the grocery store. To us, pork sausage tastes better than hamburger meat for meat sauce.

Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot - Step One

Break up the meat so it is an even layer on the bottom of the crock pot.

Step Two:

Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot - Step Two

Spread 2 Tbsp. of brown sugar on top of meat

Step Three:

Sprinkle garlic

Step Four:

Pour jar of spaghetti sauce into crock pot, covering meat completely.

Step Five:

Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours. Come home to beautifully-cooked meat sauce.  Serve over pasta.

This is a definite crowd-pleaser with little work on the part of the chef!
