Now THIS is a cute Thanksgiving Treat that kids will love. They’re not too hard to make, either. The only putzy part is making the drumsticks, which are really just pretzel rods dipped in almond bark. I added mini marshmallows at the end to make them look more like a real drumstick. You may have to fiddle around with them to get them to look just right, but they definitely don’t have to be perfect! I used Cocoa Krispies instead of Rice Krispies for the ‘meat’ of the turkey leg. Fun, and yummy too!
Cocoa Krispies Turkey Drumsticks
6 pretzel rods
Almond bark
Mini marshmallows
2 Tbsp. butter
6 C. Cocoa Krispies or Cocoa Pebbles cereal
First, break the pretzel rods in half. Dip each one in melted almond bark and stick two mini marshmallows on the end of each one. Lay on wax paper. I dipped mine twice, and make sure that the excess almond bark was all off when I set them on the wax paper for a second time.
Next, melt the butter and remaining marshmallows over the stove on low to medium. Melt remaining mini marshmallows in the butter. Remove from heat, and add Cocoa Krispies.
Butter hands. Once Cocoa Krispies mixture has cooled enough to handle, shape it around the end of the pretzel rod, forming your drumstick. Place on wax paper to cool.

So cute! I wish I saw these earlier. There’s always next year 🙂

Just made these for a bake sale fundraiser. They were pretty easy but I do have a couple suggestions. When I tried adding the marshmallows after the first coating they just slid off until I let them cool completely. I put the pretzel rods in the fridge after the first layer of almond bark and again after the second layer and it really helped. Another thing I struggled with was shaping the krispies mixture around the pretzel. It worked best for me to make the krispies part into a football like shape and set it aside for a bit to harden before pushing the pretzel into it and then I just squeezed it more tightly.
