With peanut butter inside and chocolate frosting on top, these Rice Krispie treats are something extra special. They are so delicious and they just take a few minutes to make!
1 c. sugar
1 c. corn syrup
1 c. peanut butter
6 c. Kellogg’s Rice Krispies (I do like to use Kellogg’s brand for this recipe. The store brand seems to disintegrate.)
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
1. Cook sugar and corn syrup in a medium saucepan until dissolved.
2. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter until smooth.
3. Stir in Rice Krispies.
4. Press into a 9×13 pan lined with wax paper.
5. Melt chocolate chips and spread on top.
Once the frosting cools and hardens, cut the Rice Krispie Treats into squares.
Variations: You can substitute 3 c. mini marshmallows and 2 T. butter instead of the corn syrup and sugar. Also, you could mix some butterscotch chips in with the chocolate chips for the frosting.
