Creative Pregnancy Announcements
This past week I found out that I am pregnant with our second child. My husband couldn’t be more excited and is puffing his chest with manly pride. Rather than do the normal Facebook status of “I’m pregnant!” I wanted to do something cute and creative to share the news of our pregnancy with everyone. So, I posted this photo:
It took some a few minutes, but everyone caught on in the end (I’m Pr-Eggo).
Kim made this creative pregnancy announcement to bring to work along with baby food cupcakes back in 1999 when she was expecting her first child (her last name is Danger):
Creative Pregnancy Announcements:
- Wrap up the positive pregnancy test and give to your husband
- Have an older sibling wear an “I’m the big sister/I’m the big brother” shirt to visit the grandparents
- Get a maternity shirt with a funny saying on it and see if anyone notices
- Wrap up a picture of the ultrasound to give to the grandparents
- Buy some inexpensive plates at the dollar store and write “We’re pregnant!” on them. Invite your family over for dinner, serving the food on top of the plates. Wait until they eat enough to read the news.

We gave the grandparents a cute little picture frame and put a piece of paper in it that said picture due July 2007.

We found out the day before my birthday. So I ordered my own bday cake with the words “Kerri’s pregnant” on them. Took forever for them to read it after my birthday dinner, but eventually it went over well 🙂

My sister and brother-in-law had a great way of announcing their pregnancy. It was Christmas morning and they gave my mom a gift. She opened it and it was a jar of spaghetti sauce! Of course it wasn’t ragu or Classico. It was Prego sauce! It took my mom a while to figure it out. 😉 luckily they taped a picture of the ultrasound to the back! It was such a fun and cute idea!
We gave my dad a Best Grandpa sweatshirt for xmas(since we found out in early December) it took him a minute to understand it, but he was like really??? He was sooo excited and couldn’t be happier.
We sent my inlaws on a scavenger hunt. Each item they found was a letter/number. They spelled out “Grandchild #2.”
I had the FLORIST deliver a small vase of pink and blue carnations to my mother and mother-in-law while they were each at work. I had both of the cards to read “Guess who’s expecting?”…and left it at that. Everyone knew we were trying to have a baby. Both of their phone calls were priceless!
