April 7, 2009 by Kimberly Danger Leave a Comment

A BIG thank you to Mommysavers member skimommy for providing the instructions and photos for this adorable craft.  It originally appeared in this discussion thread: Frugal Crafts, Gifts & Recipes for Easter on our discussion forums.

BASKET:

1/4 cup butter
1(10) pack. mini marshmallows
5 1/2 cups Rice Krispy cereal

FILLER IDEAS:
Coconut grass (create by adding green food coloring to coconut flakes)
Robin eggs
Peeps
Jelly beans

DIRECTIONS:
Melt butter add marshmallows stir until melted.
Remove from heat add cereal. Working quickly add to mini muffin pans (you will need enough pans to do 48 or cut recipe in half and do it twice)
Press the mixture into cup and up the sides. Let cool for 30 minutes.
Then remove from pan and fill.

You can also wrap them in cellophane Easter bags and made tags with ribbon and paper.  Cute, creative, and very frugal!
