Amazon usually comes out with new Kindle products and pricing at the end of September. Aside from special deals and sales, these are the standard prices for the next year. Right now you can pre-order products that are being released on September 30, 2015. There are some new exciting advancements and I was able to get some insider information and tips from a sales rep. at my local Best Buy store. Some of what is going to be available for the holiday season is brand new and others are “come-backs” that have been successful. Here is the available line-up:
FYI: Kindle Fire uses DROID but at the bare minimum. I love my Kindle but the latest HD model has been “glitchy.” The makers know this and are planning on trying to correct this by switching formats completely so you will see changes you in the screens and programs in general.
The Standard 7″ Kindle Fire is now going to be only $49! This is great news if you just want something to read a book, listen to music, or download games for your kids. In the past you would have to go to a generic brand and download the Amazon Kindle apps. Not anymore! This one connects specifically to your Cloud so it's user-friendly. Note: Amazon advertises the ability to watch movies, etc. However the 8GB power suggests it's for those that want the bare minimum in a tablet, yet want the Kindle product.
The Kindle Fire HD 6″ was introduced last year and it $99. It's still only 8 GB so it's for minimal use. However It's has a high definition picture which is always a good thing. it's especially nice to have a clearer picture because that makes up for the smaller size screen. The smaller size also makes it easier to take on-the-go.
The Kindle Fire Kids Edition is the 7″ standard Kindle (I believe this package was formerly the 6″) is $99 and comes with a blue or pink “kid-proof” case. It's ideal for kids' games and videos. Plus it comes with a 2 year warranty that allows you to replace it no matter how it gets broken. That alone is a pretty good deal.
The NEW Kindle Fire HD 8″ is replacing the 7″ version for only $149.99. It's supposed to be thinner and more powerful than the it's predecessor. It's also going to be reformatted and more powerful. There are 8GBs of internal storage but I believe the 16GB version will also become available.
The NEW Kindle Fire HD 10″ is $229. At 16 GBs (with an optional 32 GB version) it's the most powerful of all of the Kindle Fire models. Its built for books, music, and maximum movie downloads and streaming.
External storage drives are available for all models. All Kindle Fire devices also include FREE use of Amazon Cloud, They also ship for FREE.
