Prepping Meals Ahead of Time

March 26, 2015 by Kimberly Danger Leave a Comment

After you buy your groceries for the week, there are some simple things you can do to save time later on. Taking an hour or two to prep will save loads of time during the week. (I like to set aside time on Sunday afternoon to prep as much as possible. I realize that often I can’t prep everything, but whatever I can ahead of time will save time later.)

Ways to Prep Food Ahead of Time

  • Wash fruit
  • Chop veggies (freeze what you won’t be using)
  • Portion out snacks and place in baggies
  • Cut chicken breasts for stir fry, browning ground beef or turkey, etc.
  • Hard boil eggs
  • When you do cook, do double batches and freeze one for later

Store Foods that Save Time

  • Pre-cut fruits and veggies
  • Steam-in-the-bag potatoes and vegetables
  • Deli salads
  • Rotisserie chicken
