I made a quick and easy centerpiece this afternoon using items from the dollar store and nature. Here's how I did it.
First, we dumped out the trick-or-treat bucket and went for a nature walk to gather pine cones. You could also use acorns, walnuts etc, but the pine cones were all we could find on our nature walk. Be sure to dry your pine cones before using them for any craft or decorating project. Bake them on a foil-lined cookie sheet at 200 degrees for an hour. This will kill any bugs that try to sneak into your arrangement.
Here are the supplies I used for my centerpiece. In addition to the pine cones, I used a place mat and a hurricane vase from the dollar store. You could use any type of clear container, or a bowl. A group of vases would also look nice, but I only have one. A napkin or kitchen towel in fall colors would work instead of a place mat. Another idea is to use a fat quarter of thanksgiving fabric.
Then I just arranged. I am not a great arranger, so I'm sure my husband will βfixβ it for me. But I love the simple centerpiece and the nature look to it. Perfect for fall or Thanksgiving!
